The international break will soon be over and in the weekend Premier League is back. What kind of Manchester United will we see against West Brom? Manchester United with speed and finesse? Or the lazy Man United with no intention of scoring goals. Who knows.
I did not plan to write this, which means that this will probably not be coherent, as well as English is not my first language. However! I hope you will understand my point.
Anyhow, I dont think it is Olé to blame, as what is happening on the pitch is not directly his fault (yes I know he neeeds to motivate the players etc). For sure, Olé has not been a manager at a club like Man United, as well as Moyes did either. But what about Mourinho? What about Louis Van Gaal? Which is the only "leaders" that been the same during this time? Yes, you guessed it, Ed Woodward and the Glazers.
For sure, when Sir Alex Ferguson retired it was the biggest lost we could ever had in this club. That Sir Alex retired should however not come as a surprise that sooner or later it was time. One big problem was that at the same time, our CEO David Gill left. David and Sir Alex was a perfect combo, Sir Alex decided everything about the football part.
Instead of David Gill, the Glazers appointed Ed Woodward, and I guess you remember whats happened that summer? When a lot of players was possible signings, it ended up with Fellaini in the last day. Since then, I don´t think there is any transfer window that we signed our players early on, and then could built on that. It is all about long-spun negotiations. Why? BEACUASE ED WOODWARD IS NOT A FOOTBALL PERSON! How can he possibly explain the greatness of representing The Red Devils at the theatre of dreams ?
Woodward is good at making deals with sponsors, let´s dont take that away from him, however he cannot be responsible for the football part! For example, Olé said during the break of last season, that he have left a list of players he wants, still it ended up with last day signings !? Even to it was month after.... And I bet it wasn´t the players on Olé list.
Since The Glazers owns our club to make money, lets make a comparison with a normal company that Glazers thinks we are.
If a company fails to meet their goals year after year after year. You know what happens? Yes, the CEO either leave his post by himself or he gets sacked! The owners doesn´t sack a middle manager (yes that is what Olé is). But in this case, the owners keep sacking the middle manager and hope for the better good? You know what the definition of stupidity is? It is doing exactly the same repedetly and hope for another outcome.
Every normal company is shaped by the board. If the board is making good impression, everyone will work hard for them. That is what makes a good leader! If the board doesn´t care, and come to work just to get their paycheck. Yes then will the employes do the same! Yes you can tell me that the football players is professionals and should work for their money. But tell me, would you work harder or less if the board of your company didn´t care? It is not Olés fault if the players are lazy in this weekend game, it is all about the board! Their attitude towards the club is the greatest problem we have. As long as the Glazers and Woodward are in charge, you can count on some laze players from time to time. The culture that Sir Alex build on love for this club is fading away.
You want to make money as a company? The act like a company and kick woordward (and sell the club to someone who actually loves this club).....
